Aquanuity, Inc., the leader in strategy-led simulation-powered water infrastructure digital twin software, today announced the second half 2024 release of AquaTwin Surge for ArcGIS Pro. The product extends the powerful hydraulic network modeling capabilities of AquaTwin Water by giving users the ability to perform transient simulation in water distribution networks. It further substantiates Aquanuity’s steadfast commitment to delivering value-driven geocentric innovation to its customers.

Transients can introduce large pressure forces and rapid fluid accelerations into a water distribution system. These disturbances may result in pump and device failures, system fatigue or pipe ruptures, and even pathogen intrusion. Transient events can also lead to water column separation, which can result in catastrophic pipeline failures. Thus, transient events can cause health risks and lead to increased leakage or decreased reliability.

AquaTwin Surge can accurately and efficiently estimate transient pressure extremes in water distribution systems. Transient events can be generated by the action of a valve, a pump or both. Vulnerable areas and risks can then be identified, and appropriate surge mitigation methods implemented.

AquaTwin Surge continues our strategy of raising the bar and setting new standards in ArcGIS Pro-centric water infrastructure digital twin innovation,” said Paul F. Boulos, Aquanuity Chairman and CEO. “Built for simulation speed and power and geospatial functional excellence, the new release will equip water utilities with unprecedented transient capabilities for modeling large and complex water distribution systems to help them plan, design, operate and sustain better, safer, more reliable and efficient water infrastructure systems. We are thrilled to introduce this breakthrough digital water solution to drive our industry innovation forward.”
