Aquanuity, Inc., the leader in strategy-led simulation-powered water infrastructure digital twin software, today announced that San Jose Water (SJW), California, has purchased multiple licenses of ArcGIS Pro-centric AquaTwin Water.
San Jose Water is an investor-owned public utility serving over one million people in the greater San Jose metropolitan area. San Jose Water also provides services to other utilities including operations and maintenance, billing, and backflow testing. San Jose Water is owned by SJW Group, a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SJW. SJW Group also owns: Connecticut Water Company in Connecticut; Maine Water Company in Maine; and The Texas Water Company in Texas.
San Jose Water, with a history dating back to 1866, is one of the oldest and most technologically adept urban water utilities in the U.S. They have continued to enhance the use of hydraulic modeling and transient analysis software to ensure fire safety and facilitate robust water system design, demonstrating a commitment to community safety and reliable water service for customers. Their models have also served to optimize system operations and support a high standard of water quality. According to Jake Walsh, San Jose Water’s Assistant Chief Engineer, “the purchase of this tool is integral to our infrastructure planning strategy and roadmap and will enhance our ability to predict and manage the potential impacts of system failures.” San Jose Water exemplifies how technology can be harnessed to serve the community effectively and sustainably.
“Water utilities of all sizes are quickly recognizing the unprecedented business value and benefits of the AquaTwin digital twin platform for building, operating and managing highly efficient, sustainable and resilient water infrastructure systems,” said Paul F. Boulos, Chairman and CEO of Aquanuity. “The fact that innovative utilities like SJW chose Aquanuity as its solution partner clearly demonstrates the significant advantages and superiority of our water infrastructure digital twin technology. We’re proud and excited to partner in SJW’s success.”
