Aquanuity, Inc., the leader in strategy-led simulation-powered water infrastructure digital twin software, today announced that the Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.) of Omaha, Nebraska, has purchased AquaTwin Asset software for managing all aspects of its extensive water distribution system, optimizing operational and R&R spending, and extending lifespan of critical assets. M.U.D. is the latest progressive utility to turn to the leading AquaTwin digital twin platform for building and managing sustainable and resilient water infrastructure. The decision further confirms Aquanuity’s leadership position in AI-powered geocentric digital twin software for water and wastewater utilities.
Headquartered in Omaha, the Metropolitan Utilities District serves a population of more than 700,000 people in the metro Omaha area. It provides drinking water to 222,715 customers in Omaha, Bellevue, Bennington, Carter Lake, La Vista, Ralston, Waterloo and the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District (which supplies water to Fort Calhoun). The District owns and operates three water treatment facilities and an extensive water distribution system comprising 3,110 miles of pipes capable of supplying more than 300 million gallons of potable water per day. It also maintains more than 27,000 hydrants for fire protection.
“Water utilities are quickly recognizing the unprecedented business value and benefits of the AquaTwin digital twin platform for building, operating and managing sustainable and resilient water infrastructure,” said Paul F. Boulos, Chairman and CEO of Aquanuity. “The fact that preeminent innovation-driven utilities like M.U.D. chose Aquanuity as its solution partner clearly demonstrates the significant advantages and superiority of our water infrastructure digital twin technology. We’re proud and excited to partner in M.U.D.’s success.”
